Al-Kateb Palace is one of the most important tourist attractions in the city of Taif, which is located in the Salama neighborhood. It is one of the palaces that were built outside the old Taif wall, and it was built in the year 1315 AH. The architectural style progressed at that time, and it was built in about three years to produce its traditional architectural image, which has been witness to the architectural progress in that era. And successively inhabited by kings and princes. In the year 1315 AH, Muhammad Abdul Wahed resided in it after the completion of its construction, which lasted three years. Then it was inhabited by the sons of Muhammad Ali Abdul Wahed after it was restored and repaired. King Faisal bin Abdulaziz admired the palace as soon as he saw it; So he ordered the sons of Muhammad Ali Abd al-Wahed to build his third floor, and King Faisal agreed with the sons of Muhammad Ali Abd al-Wahed to rent the palace until he came to him in the summer, and lived in it, then his sons after him, Abdullah, Muhammad, Saad, Saud, Khalid, Turki, and then his daughter Sarah, and the situation continued for a while. Exceeded twenty years, then King Faisal moved to another neighborhood. After him, Prince Bandar bin Muhammad bin Abdulaziz resided in him for 3 years during the summer period, Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal inhabited him for 5 years and Princess Sheikha bint Abdulaziz inhabited him for 3 years during the summer period, then he was migrated in 1388 AH. The interior consists of three floors built in the ancient Roman architectural style, decorated with stone columns and semi-helical decorations that extend to the roofs. It is made of stone and marble, and there is another diwan that extends from the courtyard of the northern side of the palace. There is also a large courtyard that includes an orchard where fruits and vegetables are grown.
